Galerie 240

…Galerie 240 opened itself.  It took on a life force in Winnipeg and basically, I just executed its evolution.

The home at 240 Guigues Avenue in Ottawa was built in 1870.  Only five families have lived here since then, and at one time it was owned by the Catholic Church and was used as a convent, complete with a chapel in the basement.

When I found the property on the internet, I immediately fell in love.  When my soon to be agent Jennifer Kelly, contacted me, and then found out I was an artist, she went to work putting me in touch with Phil Emond, the Director of “The Gordon Harrison Gallery”.  The rest is history, before I knew it Galerie 240 was part of the ByWard Market Walking Tour.  Lighting was installed, hanging systems hung and floors were polished  …. Moved in August 14th 2008, first walking tour through the gallery September 6th and our opening Vernissage was November 6th, 2008.
